Known as “The Russian Rocket,” Bure joined the Florida Panthers in a blockbuster trade in January 1999. Despite a relatively short stint with the team (1998–2002), he left an indelible mark as one of the most talented players to wear a Panthers jersey.

Bure’s scoring prowess was unmatched; he led the NHL in goals for two consecutive seasons, netting 58 goals in 1999–2000 and 59 in 2000–2001, earning him back-to-back Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophies. His brilliance helped the Panthers make the playoffs in 2000, their first appearance in three years, although they were swept in the first round by the New Jersey Devils.
